Our Story
Steven and Sarah, residents of Wetumpka Alabama, grew up just minutes apart and both attended Wetumpka High School. They first crossed paths at a cross country practice in 2015. That summer Sarah had decided she would give running a try (stop laughing, at least she tried). A mutual friend introduced them at the practice, and it wasn’t until years later that Sarah realized she had only known Steven by his nickname “Delli” and never knew his real name. It wasn't until their second date that Sarah discovered Steven's nickname, "Delli", which he was called by his high school friends, was not his real name!
Steven said he always liked Sarah, but she had no idea who he was in high school. (Sarah claims this is not true by the way).
Thankfully, they had several mutual friends that kept their paths crossing in high school and on into college when they both attended Auburn University. Both Sarah and Steven had secret crushes on each other, unbeknownst to their friends who tried to set them up.
It wasn’t until Sarah graduated college that the age gap didn’t seem to matter. Come on, two years is a big deal in high school! How embarrassing for Sarah to date a freshman while she was a junior!
Little did she know, while he was still in high school, Steven had told his family that he was going to marry Sarah one day.
Finally, Sarah and Steven’s paths crossed again in 2021 at a friend's wedding shower. This time, there was an undeniable chemistry between them. They were both excited to see each other and knew that would be the turning point for them. Steven wasted no time in inviting Sarah and her sister to join his friends for karaoke and, soon after, he asked her out for a sushi date. And the rest was history!
Steven and Sarah love to be adventurous and spontaneous. They have gone to numerous concerts together to see artists such as Sir Elton John, Stevie Nicks, Billy Joel, Steve Miller Band, Journey, and even getting brought to the front row during a Paul McCartney concert! Just a few of their memorable dates include climbing an abandoned water park slide in Auburn, visiting the Museum of Wonder in Georgia, and climbing to the top of Pilot Mountain in North Carolina.
So of course, the proposal had to be an adventure as well! Steven proposed in beautiful Sedona, Arizona, which had been on Sarah’s bucket list of places to visit for years. He timed it perfectly at sunset on a scenic hiking trail, just the two of them.
Sarah and Steven both plan to use their God-given talents and passions to glorify Jesus. For Sarah, this means dedicating herself to empowering and supporting women to overcome challenges and reach their full potential. For Steven, this involves a blend of helping people achieve physical wellness and providing financial guidance to ensure they lead balanced, fulfilling lives
